(E)-3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-one is a molecule that has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. It also has an inhibitory effect on leishmania, a protozoan parasite that causes leishmaniasis. This molecule is capable of binding to insulin response elements and modulating insulin sensitivity, which can lead to an increased glucose uptake in adipocytes. In addition, (E)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-one has been shown to be able to decrease inflammation by inhibiting the production of TNFα, an inflammatory cytokine.
