• Descrição: Methyl chlorodifluoroacetate is a chemical compound that is used in the treatment of various cancers and nervous system diseases. It reacts with an electron donor such as trifluoroacetic acid to form a reactive intermediate, which then reacts with an α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) to inhibit its function. This leads to the accumulation of acetylcholine at synapses, which may be responsible for the anti-inflammatory properties of this drug. Methyl chlorodifluoroacetate also has anti-infective properties, and can be used to treat infectious diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, or protozoa. The mechanism of action is not fully understood but it may be due to methyl chlorodifluoroacetate's ability to bind nucleophilic sites on bacterial enzymes and thereby inhibit their activity.
