1-Methyl-3-p-tolyltriazene is a chemical that is used in the analysis of proteins, polysaccharides, and lipids. It can be used to analyze the glycan structure of proteins and oligosaccharides as well as to methylate protein molecules. 1-Methyl-3-p-tolyltriazene can be used for protein glycosylation and muscle tissue synthesis. This chemical reacts with human serum albumin to form an amination reaction product. The way in which this product reacts with the amino group on a protein molecule can be used to identify specific types of cancer cells.
