• Descrição: (-)-Menthyl chloroformate is a chemical compound that is used for the diagnosis of kidney fibrosis. It is also used in asymmetric synthesis as a reagent that can be converted into either of its tautomers, (+)-methoxybenzene or (-)-chlorobenzene. When (-)-methoxybenzene and (+)-chlorobenzene are reacted with different electrophiles, the two products are identical but the stereochemistry of each product is different. (-)-Menthyl chloroformate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and is being studied for use in cancer therapy and autoimmune diseases.
