4'-Methoxyresveratrol is a polyphenol found in red wine and other plants. It has been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) synthesis. 4'-Methoxyresveratrol has also been shown to have long-term efficacy against autoimmune diseases such as colitis, arthritis and asthma. This compound has not been studied in women or animals for toxicity or carcinogenicity. The most common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness and skin rash.
