It reacts with fatty acids to form 2-methylstilbene esters. 2-Methylstilbene interacts with blood pressure, cell function, and vitamin B1. It also emits light due to its double bond double bonds and is used in polymerization initiators. 2-Methylstilbene can react with amines or anthracenes to form polymers. The compound is also found in fatty acids such as palmitic acid or oleic acid.
