Descrição:2-Methoxythiazole is a sulfur-containing heterocyclic organic compound. It has been shown to be an effective corrosion inhibitor and is used in the manufacture of surfactants. 2-Methoxythiazole can be synthesized from 2-hydroxythiazole, which is obtained from the condensation of acetaldehyde with formaldehyde. In electrochemical studies, 2-methoxythiazole has shown to be a good descriptor for molecule identification using techniques such as evaporation and dipole moment measurements. Simulations have been performed to determine that the molecule has a dipole moment of about 1.4 D.
