4-Methoxyphenyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (4-MPTMS) is an organic compound that undergoes a nucleophilic substitution reaction with a boronic acid. It is the first of a series of boronic acid-containing compounds that can be used in the scalable synthesis of complex natural products. The reactivity of 4-MPTMS towards common functional groups, such as bromides and chlorides, makes it useful in cross-coupling reactions with electron deficient molecules.
