Nitenpyram is a pesticide that belongs to the group of chemical pesticides. Nitenpyram is used in the control of cockroaches, termites, and other pests. Nitenpyram has a synergic effect when combined with other chemical pesticides such as methoprene or pyrethrin. The resistance of insects to nitenpyram varies depending on their species and is due to the presence of detoxification enzymes. Nitenpyram has been shown to kill bacteria in wastewater treatment plants and surface methodology analytical methods have been developed for its detection in water samples.
