It is a synthetic substrate that can be used as an alternative to ethylene diamine in the manufacture of tricyclic antidepressant drugs. N-Phenyldiethanolamine can also be used as a sealant for alkaline hydrochloric acid and other corrosive chemicals. The hydrolysis of N-phenyldiethanolamine by hydroxyl group produces linear calibration curve with a range from 0 to 10 ppm.
