NEURODYE GH4-64 is a fluorescent styryl dye that binds to the cell nuclei of eukaryotic cells. It is used in studies of apical, primary cells, and pluronic p123 uptake as well as actin filament and protein transport. The chemical structure of NEURODYE GH4-64 has been shown to inhibit growth in gram-positive species, such as S. aureus, but not gram-negative species such as E. coli K-12. It has been shown to be nontoxic to plants when applied externally and it has been used in the study of plant physiology. NEURODYE GH4-64 can also be used for sample preparation in biochemical research.
