L-Norarginine is an organic acid that is found in plants, animals, and microorganisms. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of L1210 cells. L-Norarginine has a functional group of l-lysine and nicotinic acetylcholine. It can be found in the form of an amide with butyric acid as a byproduct. This compound inhibits potassium phosphate uptake and copper salt uptake, which have been shown to have a chronic pain inhibitory effect. L-Norarginine competitively inhibits the uptake of sulfate fractionation, which is involved in the synthesis of protein.
