Descrição:
4-Nitro-m-phenylenediamine is an organic compound that is used as a colorant and a dyestuff intermediate. It can be prepared by the direct nitration of m-phenylenediamine with nitric acid. The product of this reaction is then reduced to form 4-amino-2,6-dinitrophenol, which is then converted to 4-nitro-m-phenylenediamine by acetylation. This compound has been shown to be carcinogenic and mutagenic in animals and humans. The main health risks associated with exposure to this substance are increased risk for cancer, skin irritation, and possible respiratory problems.
