Na-Boc-Nin-formyl-D-tryptophan is a linear peptide that contains the amino acid tryptophan. It is synthesized by the ammonolysis of Boc-protected D-alanine, followed by cyclization to form a dipeptide with ninhydrin. The linear peptide is then cleaved from the resin and purified. This product has been shown to have pharmacological properties, including inhibition of growth hormone release and induction of sleep in rats. It also has antiinflammatory properties.
