Na,Nim-Bis-Boc-L-histidine·Benzene is an amino acid derivative that can be used to treat diabetes mellitus type 2. It has been shown to bind to albumin and may have a long-acting effect. This compound can also act as a linker for site specific transfection experiments. Na,Nim-Bis-Boc-L-histidine·Benzene is synthesized by the reaction of trifluoroacetic acid with L-histidine and benzene in the presence of sodium amide or other basic amine. The synthesis process is carried out at neutral pH and requires metal ion cofactors such as zinc or copper. This compound binds to the active site of Semaglutide, which is an analog of GLP1 (glucagon like peptide 1).
