Descrição:1-Octyne-3-ol is a fatty acid that is used in the production of polymers. It is produced by the hydrolysis of octanoyl chloride and has been shown to have high adsorption capacity for many molecules. 1-Octyne-3-ol has been shown to be effective against mosquitoes, with an LD50 of 0.5 mg/mL, due to its ability to interfere with the activation energy required for mosquito blood feeding. This compound can also be used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of amines.
