Informação sobre produto
Oxazole-2-carboxylic acid amide is a novel molecule that contains the c1-c3 oxazole ring, which has been stabilised by intramolecular hydrogen bonding. The oxazole ring is also present in streptogramins and mikamycin antibiotics. Oxazole-2-carboxylic acid amide has been shown to have potent antibiotic activity against Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, S. pyogenes, S. aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Candida albicans. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria by forming hydrogen bonds with the ribosomal RNA in the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes. This inhibits protein synthesis and cell division by preventing mRNA transcription and translation.
