Oxypeucedanin hydrate is a sesquiterpene lactone that is found in the rhizomes of Angelica dahurica. It has been shown to have anti-cancer properties and can be used for the treatment of skin cancer. The preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for oxypeucedanin hydrate eliminates the matrix effect and allows for the analysis of this compound in different matrices, such as skin or oral pathogens. Oxypeucedanin hydrate also has an inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria, but does not affect their motility. Oxypeucedanin hydrate has been shown to have an effect on fetal bovine serum and erythrocytes.
