Octafluorobiphenylene is an organic compound that is a derivative of biphenylene. It is used in the synthesis of polymers, such as trifluoroacetic acid and trifluoroethylene. Octafluorobiphenylene has excellent transport properties, including good chemical stability and high thermal stability. The hydroxyl group on the biphenylene ring interacts with the fluorine atom to form hydrogen bonds, which provide octafluorobiphenylene with its high solubility in water.
