• Descrição: Pentafluorophenyl trifluoroacetate is a prodrug that is activated by the hydroxyl group to form trifluoroacetic acid. Trifluoroacetic acid inhibits the growth of cancer cells and can be used for the treatment of cervical cancer. Pentafluorophenyl trifluoroacetate has also been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and chemical species that stimulate cell proliferation, leading to an anti-cancer effect. Pentafluorophenyl trifluoroacetate has been shown to react with amide groups on proteins in the cell membrane, which leads to changes in the permeability of the membrane and cell death. This drug also reacts with carbonyl groups on proteins in the cell, which alters their function, leading to cell death.
