Descrição:H-D-Phg-Leu-OH is a protein that has been shown to have protease activity. It is encoded by the gene for human mitochondrial protein. H-D-Phg-Leu-OH is involved in the adsorption mechanism of proteins in cells, which may be due to its ability to form disulfide bonds with other molecules. H-D-Phg-Leu-OH also has the ability to bind specifically to antibodies and monoclonal antibodies that are directed against it. The biological function of this protein is not known, but it has been found that it is differentially expressed between women and men. Studies using a polymerase chain reaction showed that H-D-Phg-Leu-OH was upregulated in cancer cells and its expression increased with increasing body mass index (BMI).
