4-(Pyrrolidin-1-ylsulfonyl)aniline is a conjugate of 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid and pyrrolidine. It is an acidic solvent that can be reused. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against a variety of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The solubility of 4-(pyrrolidin-1-ylsulfonyl)aniline in water is pH dependent, and it is more soluble at lower pH values. 4-(Pyrrolidin-1-ylsulfonyl)aniline has also been found to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and has anticancer activity. This compound may be useful as an affinity ligand for the purification and separation of metal ions from organic solvents or other compounds.
