4-(1H-Pyrrol-1-yl)benzohydrazide is a cancer drug that inhibits the growth of bacteria by blocking fatty acid synthesis. The optimum concentration for 4-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzohydrazide was determined to be 0.5 mM in vitro, which led to a decrease in bacterial growth. This drug also has antibacterial activity and can be used for the treatment of tuberculosis. The mechanism of action of 4-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzohydrazide is not yet known, but it may involve adsorption to the cell wall or inhibition of cellular functions such as DNA replication or protein synthesis.
