Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitrile is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It also has anti-cancer properties, which may be related to its ability to bind to DNA and inhibit cellular proliferation. Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitrile binds to the hydroxyl group of fatty acids in cellular membranes and disrupts their function.
