2-Phenoxypropanoyl chloride is a organic compound that belongs to the group of organic solvents. It has been used as a model system for studying the kinetics of chlorination reactions. 2-Phenoxypropanoyl chloride is able to bind with amines and act as an antiplatelet agent, inhibiting platelet aggregation and reducing blood flow in the body. The orientation of 2-phenoxy proprionate and chloride is determined by gas chromatography (Hplc) methods, showing that it reacts with sodium hydrogen ions to form 2-phenoxypropane and hydrogen chloride.
2-Phenoxypropanoyl chloride is used as an active ingredient in Fluocinolone Acetonide cream, which has been shown to reduce inflammation in skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
