This molecule has been shown to form channels in the membrane and stabilize lipid bilayers, which may be due to hydrogen bonds with the hydrophobic interior of the membrane. 3-Phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid also exhibits stability against degradation by light and air, which may be due to its low energy transition.
