2-Phenyl-1,3-benzoxazol-6-amine is an organic compound that has been shown to have neurotoxicity. It has affinity for a number of drugs, including carbamazepine and phenytoin. In tissue samples, 2-phenyl-1,3-benzoxazol-6-amine can be modified by a number of functional groups. The biphenyl derivative of 2-phenyl-1,3-benzoxazol-6-amine has been shown to have fluorescence properties. The biphenyl derivative also has a number of proteomic modifications. 2PBA was intraperitoneally injected in mice at doses of 10 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg. At the higher dose, there was an increase in the level of fluorescence in the brain as well as a decrease in protein synthesis levels.
