4-Propoxyphenylboronic acid is a boron-containing organic compound that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It can be used to synthesize polyenes, polyacetylenes, and terphenyls. 4-Propoxyphenylboronic acid has been shown to react efficiently with monosubstituted olefins in the Suzuki coupling reaction. This reaction produces high yields of polymers with good optical properties. 4-Propoxyphenylboronic acid also interacts with polyene chains, causing them to form interchain interactions. This interaction can lead to emission of light when the molecule is excited by an electron beam or laser pulse.
