- (Z)-Methyl 2-acetylamino-3-phenylacrylate
2-Propenoic acid, 2-(acetylamino)-3-phenyl-, methylester,(2z)- is an organocatalytic compound that can be used as a ligand in asymmetric synthesis. It is used in the hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. The catalyst can also be used to perform alkylation, cinnamylation, malonate allylation and hydrosilylation reactions. This product has been shown to act as a diphosphine in supramolecular catalysis with a variety of ligands such as dioximes and phosphines. The active form of this product is allylated with butyllithium or allyl bromide, which yields the corresponding homoallylic alcohols.
