Descrição:
(+/-)-2-Pentanol is a p-nitrophenyl phosphate ester and is used as a substrate in the kinetic determination of hydroxyl groups. The covalent linkages that form between the hydroxyl group and the pyrimidine compound are stable and do not break down during chemical reactions. (+/-)-2-Pentanol has been shown to inhibit HIV infection in vitro and in vivo, but only at high concentrations. This activity may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of viral proteins.
