Peimisine is an extract from the Chinese herb Pallidiflora that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against a variety of human cancer cell lines. It has also been shown to have antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects. The structure of peimisine has been determined using chemical analysis, and it contains a glycosidic bond. The extraction process for peimisine has been optimized and it can be used in both animal and human studies. Peimisine may also be useful for treating pandemic influenza, as well as lung damage caused by other conditions such as smoke inhalation or pneumonia.
