Descrição:1-Pyrene-methyl methacrylate is a chromophore with a steady-state fluorescence emission. It has been shown to have biological relevance as a monomer in the preparation of functional copolymers, which are used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. 1-Pyrene-methyl methacrylate also reacts with anions and can be detected by gel permeation chromatography. This compound is soluble in organic solvents, such as toluene and acetone, but not in water. The polymerization kinetics for this compound are rapid and it can be detected using fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET).
