Potassium tetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate (K[BArF]) is an inorganic salt that has been used as a matrix for the preparation of polyvinyl polypyrrolidone. It is also used to prepare certain organic compounds, such as fatty acids and urea nitrogen. K[BArF] is a crystalline solid with linear calibration curve. One of its use is to measure the binding constants between receptor molecules and hydrogen tartrate. K[BArF] has been shown to have transport properties in phospholipid membranes at physiological levels, and it also has electrochemical impedance spectroscopy properties.
