Periglaucine A is a natural product that has shown anticancer properties. It inhibits the growth of trophozoites, prevents granuloma formation, and inhibits viral replication in vitro. This compound also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects, as it has been shown to inhibit the production of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β in vitro. The mechanism of action is thought to be due to the denaturation of proteins and inhibition of DNA synthesis.
