- Isoxazole, 3-phenyl-
3-Phenylisoxazole is a heterocycloalkyl compound that has the molecular formula CHNO. It is an orally active drug that modulates the activity of receptors that interact with proteins. 3-Phenylisoxazole is also an inhibitor of protein synthesis, and can be used to treat autoimmune diseases and inflammatory diseases such as bronchial asthma. 3-Phenylisoxazole binds to the bromodomain of the protein BRD4, which is a transcriptional coactivator for genes involved in inflammatory responses and immune system function. The phenylisoxazole group encompasses the BRD4 ligand binding site, preventing occupancy by other molecules.
