1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene is a functional group that has heat resistance and can be used as a protecting group for amines. It is also a functional group that can be used to form cationic polymerization and radical coupling in organic synthesis. 1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene is an efficient method of synthesizing polymers, with its use in synthetic chemistry being well documented. 1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene has the ability to react with aldehydes, including formaldehyde, to produce isomers of the original compound. This process can also be used for alkylation and deformation in the synthesis of styrene. 1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene can also be used as a protecting group for amines and in cationic polymerization and radical coupling reactions.
