- Phaseolidin
Phaseollidin is an extract from the seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris. Phaseollidin shows a wide range of biochemical properties, including enzyme activities and isoflavonoid biosynthesis. It also has locomotor activity and can inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro. In vivo studies have shown that phaseollidin inhibits the development of metastatic breast cancer in mice. The mechanism for this activity may be due to its ability to reduce the production of fatty acids, acetate extract, and phenolic acid, which are involved in cancer cell proliferation. This extract also has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting cytokine production in macrophages.
