Informação sobre produto
Proctolin is a peptide hormone that is produced in the brain by the proctolin cells. It has been shown to induce feeding and weight gain in galleria mellonella. Proctolin has also been shown to have receptor activity for glutamate, which is an excitatory neurotransmitter that helps regulate neuronal activity in the central nervous system. Proctolin also stimulates cardiac muscle and increases blood pressure. Proctolin may be involved in regulating blood sugar levels, although its exact function remains unknown. Proctolin was first isolated from soybean trypsin inhibitor and has been found to have biological properties similar to those of other peptide hormones such as gastrin and secretin.
