• Descrição: Phellodendrine is a glycol ester of berberine that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of hepatitis. Phellodendrine has been shown to activate toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and inhibit il-2 receptor expression in human monocytes and neutrophils, leading to an inhibited production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-2. Phellodendrine also displays anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activities, which may be due to its ability to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential and regulate sodium citrate levels. The biological properties of phellodendrine have been determined using surface methodology coupled with analytical methods. The analyzed compounds are detected by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
