2,2,3,4,4-Pentafluorooxetane is a refrigerant that can be used as a replacement for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). It has a high global warming potential and is not expected to deplete the ozone layer. 2,2,3,4,4-Pentafluorooxetane is a colorless gas with an ether-like odor. It has good solvency properties and does not react with most substances. This compound is often used in the production of polyurethanes because it does not react with amine groups. 2,2,3,4,4-Pentafluorooxetane has been shown to have an effect on the environment but it's toxicity to humans is not well known.
