Pentafluorophenylmagnesium bromide - 0.5 M in Diethyl ether is a fluorinated Grignard reagent used to synthesize organic compounds. It can be used as a catalyst and in the synthesis of light emitting materials, such as phosphors. Pentafluorophenylmagnesium bromide can also be used to form metal hydroxides and halides, which are important in chemical reactions. The reaction solution is typically prepared by adding pentafluorophenylmagnesium bromide to ether with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. This solution is then cooled to produce white crystals of pentafluorophenylmagnesium bromide-0.5 M in diethyl ether that are soluble in water vapor.
