Potassium Trifluoro(3-Nitrophenyl)Borate(1-) is an organic compound that belongs to the organotrifluoroborates. It is a colourless solid that is soluble in water, alcohols, and ethers. It has a melting point of -5°C and boils at 100°C. Potassium Trifluoro(3-Nitrophenyl)Borate(1-) can be used as a precursor for the synthesis of other compounds with functional groups. It is usually produced by reacting chlorine gas with boric acid or potassium hydroxide under controlled conditions. The yields are high and the reaction requires only mild conditions.
