Descrição

Quinoline-8-sulfonamide is a hydrated compound that is used as a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor. It has been shown to have anticancer activity and blocks the production of matrix metalloproteinases by binding to the active site of these enzymes. Quinoline-8-sulfonamide also inhibits the activation of toll-like receptors, which are proteins found on cells that play a critical role in an inflammatory response. This drug has been shown to inhibit methionine aminopeptidase, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of amino acids. The mechanism of action for this drug is not fully understood, but it is thought to be due to metal ion coordination chemistry and may involve the trifluoromethyl group.
