Descrição:7-Quinolinecarboxaldehyde is a quinoline derivative that has been shown to have the ability to bind to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and induce the phosphorylation of tyrosine kinases. It has been found to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and may be useful in the treatment of cancers. 7-Quinolinecarboxaldehyde is synthesized by formylation of 7-hydroxyquinoline with methanol followed by dehydration with formic acid. The compound can also be prepared from a reaction between 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and quinoline. The synthesis methods for this compound are vibrational, thermodynamic, and molecular electrostatic potential. 7-Quinolinecarboxaldehyde is stable at room temperature but reacts violently with water or moisture.
