Descrição:4-Hydrazinopiperidine dihydrochloride is a compound with an anticancer activity that inhibits the production of estrogens. It also has antibacterial activity and has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth. 4-Hydrazinopiperidine dihydrochloride binds to the estrogen receptor, preventing the binding of estrogen, which is required for the activation of estrogen responsive genes. This results in a reduction in cell proliferation and an increase in apoptosis. 4-Hydrazinopiperidine dihydrochloride also inhibits phosphatase activity in mouse femurs and prevents bone resorption. The compound has been found to be effective against atherosclerotic lesions, as well as menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats.
