Descrição

Schizantherin B is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the activities of multiple drug transporters in vitro and in vivo. It binds to the enzyme ATP-binding cassette transporter A1, which is involved in transporting drugs from blood into cells. The binding of Schizantherin B to this transporter prevents it from functioning, leading to neuronal death. This compound also inhibits the activities of other drug transporters such as P-glycoprotein, multidrug resistance-associated protein 1, and breast cancer resistance protein. Schizantherin B shows potential for use as an anti-cancer agent because of its ability to induce skin cancer cell death and inhibit tumor growth.
