Sodiumtetrabromoaurate is a surface stabilizer that can be used in the pharmaceutical industry. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells and is currently being researched for its ability to bind to cisplatin, increasing its anticancer activity. Sodiumtetrabromoaurate contains a phosphate group that acts as a linker, which attaches the organic solvent (cisplatin) to an inorganic magnetic nanoparticle. The organic solvent is then converted into cisplatin, which binds to the magnetic nanoparticles and accumulates on the surface of cancer cells. This process creates hydrogen bonds between the magnetic nanoparticles and cancer cells, leading to cell death by apoptosis.
