Descrição

Sophoranone is a pharmaceutical drug that inhibits the activation of the complement system and has been used to treat chronic bronchitis. Sophoranone has been shown to inhibit hydrochloric acid production in the stomach and to have anticomplement activity. Its pharmacokinetic properties are not well understood, but it has been shown to have a short half-life and be rapidly eliminated from the body. Sophoranone also inhibits cell signaling pathways and has been shown to be effective against bone cancer. It may also have anticancer effects on xenograft tumor growth in mice, although these effects may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid metabolism.
