Sodium tert-pentoxide is a chemical compound that is used in the production of fatty acids, and as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is also used to dissolve fats, oils, waxes, and other substances. Sodium tert-pentoxide has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on prostate cancer cells and may be useful for the treatment of resistant prostate cancer. This chemical can also be used to synthesize chemicals with aliphatic chains or hydroxybenzoic acid. It has also been shown to stimulate the growth of some types of cells by increasing levels of growth factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF).
