• Descrição: Salicylidene salicylhydrazide is a drug that is used to treat type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders. It has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity in rats, reducing glucose levels and improving the body mass index. This drug has also been shown to reduce the development of diabetic neuropathy by preventing oxidative stress in nerve cells. Salicylidene salicylhydrazide is a potent inhibitor of brain natriuretic peptide, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of nitric oxide. This drug also inhibits gamma-aminobutyric acid and therefore may be useful for treating epilepsy or anxiety disorders.
